Course Summary 
This case discussion evening will be facilitated by a GP and HBV Prescriber, Dr Allison Hempenstall, and will take place via webinar.

Synopsis
In this case discussion participants will discuss a range of Hepatitis B cases which will include different approaches to diagnosing, treating and managing people living with hepatitis B.

Event Description 
This interactive training provides HBV prescribers and other primary care clinicians with an interest HBV, an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to practical cases spanning diagnosis to treatment initiation and ongoing monitoring. Case scenarios are developed by ASHM clinical advisors or local experts to meet the identified learning needs of ASHM’s HBV prescribers, which vary from each State and Territory.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Plan guideline-based monitoring for patients with chronic hepatitis B
  2. Evaluate chronic hepatitis B patients’ suitability for antiviral treatment
  3. Select and prescribe appropriate first-line antiviral medication for patients with chronic hepatitis B

Target Audience
General Practitioners, other community-based Medical Practitioners, and Nurse Practitioners who are HBV s100 prescribers practicing in QLD

Accreditation

  • HBV s100 Prescribers will be allocated 1 HBV CPD point
  • Allocated 3 Category 2 points (activity number 190829) in the RACGP QI&CPD Program for the 2020-2022 triennium
  • Allocated 2 core PDP Points (activity ID 20619) in the ACRRM program for the 2020-2022 Triennium
