17 April 2019 1.00pm Zoom Educational Series: Paediatrics The word paediatric means “healer of children” and with close to 20% of the Australian population fitting into the under-18 demographic it is easy to recognise the increasing importance of paediatric health. As a holistic specialty, it involves care and sometimes education of the whole family. Babies and children are often unable to speak or make decisions for themselves; therefore guardianship, privacy and legal responsibility must always be considered. Paediatricians often have to treat the parents and family, rather than just the child. This Zoom meeting will briefly discuss childhood respiratory issues, behavioural disorders and treatment of illness in isolated situations.
